some Dutch words really capture the spirit of the thing better than the English. Why say that Odin flattens me with joy when I come home, when I could say that I am VERPLETTERD

@0xabad1dea I absolutely love the dutch language. From a german perspective, a lot of words are outright cute. Among other things, I absolutely adore "ontploffing" for explosion :D

@DJGummikuh @0xabad1dea one of my favourite words is "vernietigen" voor "to destroy". almost as good as the german "zerstören"

@sijmen @0xabad1dea seems to me more like "vernichten", with the "nicht" out of that word being literally translated to niet. Dutch does that a lot

@DJGummikuh @0xabad1dea it could be either in this case - there's no real word for zerstören. the similar looking dutch "verstoren" is more like "disturb" (or the german "stören")
