I know the situation with Twitter is abhorrent and the UK government should be facing questions about why they're still using it under the circumstances, but I keep seeing the idea floated that they should set up on the fediverse.
And while I don't disagree, I would fully anticipate them facing questions about why they've ditched one place with a CSAM problem for another.

While good servers do their best to defederate problem servers, an uncomfortable truth is that they do exist on the fediverse.
If you have a government server set up home here, unless it's got signed fetch and is strongly moderated it's not going to take long for a journalist to grab screenshots of government toots on some extremely unsavoury corners of the place.
