in other news i just used kdenlive for the first time since forever and i.. didn't hate it?

i used to just grab my ancient macbook pro (2015) for imovie, looks like i might be able to stop doing that

It works but it kinda has a strange learning curve, IMO it pretty much sits somewhere in the middle between completely amateur editing apps and high end ones like Da Vinci !
